maxon, a global leader in precision drive systems, has announced a significant expansion of its ECX PRIME brushless DC (BLDC) motor series, introducing new models that deliver exceptional torque and speed in compact, lightweight designs.

The latest addition, the ECX PRIME 22, features a 22 mm diameter and achieves 69.1 mNm of nominal torque at speeds up to 30,000 rpm, making it ideal for applications requiring both high performance and minimal footprint. This complements the existing ECX PRIME 16 and ECX PRIME 6 models, which offer torque ratings of 25.3 mNm at 40,000 rpm and 0.57 mNm at 50,000 rpm, respectively.

All ECX PRIME motors are built with a four-pole design and ironless winding, ensuring smooth, cogging-free torque delivery and excellent speed-torque rigidity. These features make the motors particularly well-suited for precision applications in medical technology, robotics, and industrial automation.

The ECX PRIME 22 is also available in a sterilizable version, capable of withstanding up to 1,000 autoclave cycles, and can be equipped with ceramic bearings for cleanroom or vacuum environments. Customers can configure these motors online and integrate them with maxon’s ESCON2 speed controllers, EPOS4 position controllers, or multi-axis systems to create complete drive solutions.
