GW Plastics is expanding its manufacturing facility in Dongguan, China.

June 10, 2014

Early next year GW will relocate its existing operations into a larger, standalone, building. This new 125,000-square-foot building, located within the company's existing industrial park, will provide the room needed for the continued business growth, according to the company. The new facility is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2015.

GW Plastics Dongguan supports customers with in-house tool building, clean-room molding and assembly, and global shipping of finished medical devices.

The close proximity of GW’s new facility to its existing operation will allow for business expansion with minimal disruption to its customers and long-tenured workforce, officials said.

"We are working very closely with our customers to plan the necessary coordination for the transfer,” says Benjamin Bouchard, GW Plastics vice president of international business and managing director for China. “We are committed to making this move transparent to our customers. Consistency is our strength and we will not sacrifice this during our transition.”

In addition to the increased room for growth, the new facility will allow for a larger in-house tool manufacturing operation and more streamlined production operations. The expansion more than doubles the size of the plant.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to move into this larger and more efficient facility, and the advantages it will offer to GW Plastics and our customers,” Bouchard said.

Founded in 1955, Bethel, Vt.-based GW Plastics specializes in complex injection-molded thermoplastic and silicone solutions.
