The Award recognises the advanced technology pioneered by Creganna in the development of three new innovations for minimally invasive surgery– PoleVault™, MicroFlexTM and Fusion Technology™. Creganna is the only Irish company ever to have won this award in the medical devices category.
The PoleVault™ hypotube, developed in response to product features demanded by medical device manufacturers, improves kink resistance in stent placement catheters. A critical component of minimally-invasive catheters, used in conjunction with balloons and stents to open up clogged cardiac arteries, the PoleVault™ hypotube has 40% more kink resistance than other hypotubes.
MicroFlex™, a micro tube for small vasculature applications such as the neurovascular system and Fusion Technology™, a breakthrough solution for Nitinol to Stainless Steel tube welding utilising patented technology† are innovative alternatives to current, more expensive product solutions.
