Biological Indicators (BIs) for Sterilization
Biological sterility indicators, consisting of bacterial spores and a carrier material, are used to test whether a facility's sterilization methods are effective. These indicators contain microorganisms that are purposefully resistant to the chosen sterilization processes. From there, cleaning methods are tested to determine whether they kill off a specified number of bacteria. Biological testing services of this kind are available in this directory of suppliers to the medical device and diagnostics industry.
