Uson has a new blog post and application note discussing how to leak test a bi-directional valve.
Valve testing, as anyone who has had to manage it, can be complicated. Apart from a straightforward leak test, check valves as we have discussed before often require a “crack test” to determine that they will operate at the correct specification. That is to say that they will allow flow without undue pressure or will oppose flow if the pressure is low in the case of a relief valve for example.
A practical use and detailed description of a practical leak test is available in our application note Bi-Directional Check Valve Tester AN-3 which may be downloaded by logging in or joining our literature club. Follow this link
