FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) heat shrink tubing is provided in it’s expanded state and molds tightly over both regular and irregular shapes after a brief application of heat. FEP offers good flexibility, optical clarity, high lubricity and is a cost-effective alternative to other heat shrink options.
Within the medical industry, heat shrink is most often used as a manufacturing aid for catheter reflow and tipping operations, but may also be used for strain relief termination, insulation, encapsulation, and as a protective layer against heat, moisture, abrasion, and corrosion for a variety of industries including aerospace, automotive, and industrial electrical.
All heat shrink tubing manufactured by New England Tubing Technologies is manufactured in a clean room environment meeting the criteria of ISO 14644-1:2015 Class 8. This provides critical contamination control and elimination of environmental variables that could adversely affect the manufacturing process, thus providing a high level of quality assurance.
