We often get asked, "What kinds of materials do you process?" At Accumold we process thermoplastic resins. Most often the projects we produce involve include highly-engineered materials. PEEK, Ultem® (PEI), LCP, & Nylons are among some of the more common resins processed at Accumold.
Many times these resins are also processed to add other properties. Some are highly-filled materials with glass, carbon non-tubes or other resin fillers to add certain strength or stability to a part. Some materials are color-matched to specific PANTONE swatches so they can mate with other produced parts with the same look and feel. Some materials have special colorants to create specific filtering. For example, some fiber optic connectors have a special additive that tints, or attenuates, the lights passing through so our customers can control the kind or amount of light that passes through.
The ability to process these high-end materials allows our customers more options when designing micro parts and components.
