DYCONEX AG announces the establishment of BIOCONEX AG, a wholly owned Swiss subsidiary dedicated to transforming substrate technologies manufactured by DYCONEX into customer-specific, ready-to-integrate sub-components for medical devices.

Bassersdorf, Switzerland | September 8, 2026

Medical devices are becoming smaller, less invasive and increasingly sophisticated. To meet these demands, advanced substrate technologies offer the ideal solution — driving manufacturing efficiency while matching the highest quality standards. In many cases, however, substrates alone cannot be used directly in a final device. BIOCONEX serves as a bridge between substrate technology and product integration, transforming DYCONEX's substrates into customer-specific interconnect components that medical device manufacturers can directly incorporate into their products. This simplifies integration work, reduces development complexity and accelerates the path from concept to market.

"Medical technology has always been at the heart of DYCONEX," said Dr. Hubert Zimmermann, CEO of DYCONEX AG. "Our ambition has always been to grow alongside our customers and support them as their technologies evolve. BIOCONEX is an important step in that direction and reflects our commitment to continuously expanding the value we create for medical device manufacturers."

BIOCONEX is led by Dr. Marc Hauer, Managing Director, and Christian Ahr, VP Finance & Services.

After joining DYCONEX in 2004 as a Product Engineer, Dr. Hauer held several engineering and leadership positions, including Head of Research & Development. During this time, he played a key role in the development and industrialization of DYCONEX's biocompatible LCP substrate technology, working closely with medical device manufacturers to translate new concepts into manufacturable products.

"Working together with our customers over many years has shown us that successful products require much more than an excellent substrate," said Dr. Hauer. "BIOCONEX allows us to focus on the processing technologies that transform substrates into functional components and to develop these solutions together with our customers."

Leveraging more than three years of tenure at DYCONEX, Christian Ahr will maintain his role as Vice President of Finance & Services for DYCONEX AG in Switzerland, while expanding his responsibilities to lead the financial operations of BIOCONEX AG.

Operating from its headquarters in Switzerland, BIOCONEX benefits from the engineering expertise, manufacturing know-how and technological foundation established by DYCONEX while developing its own specialized processes and competencies dedicated to medical device integration.

Together, DYCONEX and BIOCONEX are creating an environment where innovation, engineering expertise and close customer collaboration come together to turn new ideas into successful medical products.
