Crystal IS has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for its operations and processes implemented for the production of its high performance UVC LEDs.
ISO 9001, a global standard for best practices in quality management, requires that an organization maintain specific levels of quality while also pursuing continuous, systematic improvement of the company’s processes. This standard is focused around seven quality management principles: customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision making and relationship management.
The latest standard, ISO 9001:2015, places a greater emphasis on a company’s use of risk analysis to anticipate challenges in managing business processes. It also requires organizations to be aware of, and anticipate, the needs of company stakeholders including employees, shareholders and customers, in the development of future products.
Crystal IS, previously certified to the ISO 9001:2008 standard, has achieved the ISO 9001:2015 certification after the annual external audit of its systems and processes. To uphold this certification, companies must continue to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products that meet customer expectations, as well as applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
Following ISO standards provides a reliable methodology for Crystal IS to deliver consistent, quality products at volume that meet customer requirements. It also aligns with the company’s focus on ongoing process and technology improvements to meet the needs of healthcare and point-of-use water markets.
“Many of the guiding principles of ISO 9001:2015 are already core to our practices and values at Crystal IS,” said Larry Felton, President and CEO of Crystal IS. “Through continual improvement of our operations and understanding our customers’ needs, we have successfully commercialized UVC LEDs that meet the price and performance requirements of our core markets.”
