Carlisle Companies Incorporated announces the acquisition of LHi Technology.
St. Augustine, FL – October 1, 2014 - Carlisle Companies Incorporated (NYSE:CSL) today announced the acquisition of LHi Technology (LHi), a leading designer, manufacturer and provider of cable assemblies and related interconnect components to the medical equipment and device industry. LHi supplies world-class medical device original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with interconnect components used for patient monitoring, electrosurgery, diagnostic imaging and surgical instrumentation.
LHi has manufacturing and assembly facilities in Shenzhen, China where it employs more than 2,000 people. LHi sells its products globally to the world’s leading medical device OEMs. The company designs, manufactures and sells customized, high-reliability wire and cable, cable assemblies and components for the transmission of data to and from medical devices used for a variety of medical applications. The business will operate as part of Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CIT), a global provider of specialty wire and cable and interconnect components for commercial and military aircraft, medical applications, and other communications systems.
LHi is well respected by its customers and is a great strategic fit with CIT’s medical Interconnect Strategy. LHi greatly expands CIT’s reach geographically and expands CIT’s product offering into new medical markets and customers. LHi has a great reputation in the medical industry for quality and innovation and is valued as a key supplier to the world’s largest medical OEMs. CIT brings vast expertise in cable and fiber optic manufacturing, specialty connector development and manufacturing, contact and pin manufacturing and cable assembly manufacturing. The combination of CIT and LHi will create a global leader in medical cable assemblies and interconnect products and will be one of the few vertically integrated companies able to provide end-to-end medical interconnect solutions.
John Berlin, CIT’s President, said: “We are very excited about the acquisition of LHi, as it adds scale to our Medical business and forms the basis of a new growth platform for CIT. We have long wanted to expand our portfolio of products to include medical capabilities and view the acquisition of LHi as a great way to strengthen our medical product technology and manufacturing capability. We plan to invest aggressively in LHi’s people, processes, technology, new product development and operational systems to help the business continue to grow and reach its full potential. Key to our investments in LHi is the implementation of the Carlisle Operating System to create a world class manufacturing operation focused on service excellence for our customers. The acquisition of LHi will form a CIT Medical Division which will have dedicated resources in sales, marketing, new product development and R&D. LHi will also be able to leverage CIT’s cable, connector, contact and cable assembly capabilities to accelerate its growth curve. LHi is an excellent addition to CIT and creates an industry leading player in medical interconnect products and solutions.
