Heniford, Development Engineering Manager with Secant Medical®, the industry leader in design, development, and custom manufacturing services for implantable biomedical textiles, will speak at the Modern Materials Session on Wednesday June 8th, 2011, during the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East Conference in New York, NY. During the session entitled "Working with Modern Materials: Advances in Materials for Demanding Biomedical Applications," Heniford will review the various methods and unique materials used to create biomedical textiles for medical devices. He will address the wide range of textile structures (the order and orientation of polymeric and metallic filaments in a structure, versatility and variability of properties and performance characteristics, physical and mechanical properties, etc.) and how their distinct fabric geometries provide unique form and function capabilities that enable design.
