Galway, Ireland, July 12th 2011 – Creganna Medical, a leading provider of medical device outsourcing solutions, is pleased to announce that Mr. Scott R. Ward has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Mr. Ward has over 30 years experience in the medical devices industry and held a number of senior leadership positions with Medtronic including Senior Vice President & President, Medtronic Cardiovascular. Mr. Ward will join the Creganna Medical Board as a non-executive director, effective immediately.
As Vice President & President of Medtronic Cardiovascular, Mr. Ward was responsible for the worldwide operations of the Coronary, Peripheral, Endovascular and Structural Heat Disease business units. Mr. Ward also held leadership positions in a number of businesses while at Medtronic including the Vascular, Neurological & Diabetes and Drug Delivery divisions. In addition to his appointment to the Board of Creganna Medical, Mr. Ward also serves on the Board of SurModics, Inc. (Nasdaq: SRDX) and is Chairman to the Board of MAP Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: MAPP) and Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare. Mr. Ward holds a B.S. in Genetics and Cell Biology and an M.S. in Toxicology from the University of Minnesota.
