In 2015 we evaluated various acrylic adhesives for long-term wear applications. In our second study, we examined the most promising adhesive from our first study and highly formulated variations, which could be readily altered. The five adhesive formulations were coated on a Nonwoven PET and PU Film to assess wear times.
The second Healthy Human wear duration study focused on identifying acrylic adhesive formulations that would have wear times >14 days.
Scapa Healthcare identified long-wear adhesives for wearable medical devices lasting up to 16.5 days (for 80% wear).
