RTX Telecom A/S is pleased to report the expansion of its business in medical applications, enabled by the increasing delivery of customized embedded modules for wireless telemetry

SAN JOSE, CA, June 1, 2011RTX Telecom A/S is pleased to report the expansion of its business in medical applications, enabled by the increasing delivery of customized embedded modules for wireless telemetry.

RTX began its focus on the medical industry starting in early 2008. Several engagements ensued, and RTX embarked on the development of specialized wireless devices for medical systems, including those used for patient monitoring in hospitals. Over the past 12 months, this business has grown to include the manufacturing and sale of customized wireless modules that enable the transfer of patient data to monitoring stations within health care facilities throughout the US and Europe.

The medical industry is relatively new market for RTX, and represents the company's continued efforts in market diversification as it complements it offerings in enterprise, small business, and consumer-class communications solutions. "RTX is well suited to address the rigorous demands of the medical space," states Jesper Mailind, President and CEO of RTX Telecom. "We bring deep domain knowledge of high-performance digital wireless communication, significant experience in the design of robust, manufacturable, cost-effective devices, and a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements."

RTX's growing success in this segment stems in part from its ability to form strong and effective relationships with its clients' engineering, quality, and logistics teams. These relationships, built upon strong project management and open communication, have led to a high level of customer satisfaction in this segment.

"RTX brings a total solution to our customers, offering a virtual R&D department and a flexible supply chain management team that can respond to customer needs," Jesper Mailind continues. "Addressing the medical industry has allowed RTX to demonstrate its full range of skills and services, including novel ways to enhance wireless system performance, coverage, and capacity. We will continue to expand the wireless technologies we offer our clients, including the use of low-power WiFi, ZigBee, emerging wireless standards, and fully-customized proprietary solutions for patient telemetry, body-area networks, and real-time location services."
