The acquisition represents an expanded focus on contract manufacturing for medical and healthcare markets.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (June 7, 2018) -- Röchling Advent Tool and Mold is announcing its acquisition of Pennsylvania-based Precision Medical Products, Inc. The acquisition creates synergy between Röchling Advent Tool and Mold’s injection molding expertise and PMP’s metal and fine precision capabilities that will provide strong opportunities to serve customers better and expand market reach.

The comprehensive capabilities of Precision Medical Products, Inc. (PMP) include engineering services, metalworking, injection molding, device assembly, packaging, and sterilization. The ability to produce high-quality precision parts with extremely tight tolerances and to implement demanding projects of the highest quality has led to significant growth in the past. Its comprehensive contract manufacturing services will elevate Röchling’s North American Medical Division to a more advanced medical industry offering and enable it to provide a wider range of services to medical device manufacturers than ever before. The new facility will provide Röchling with additional production space, as well as 20,000 square feet of additional clean room space, to better serve its medical customers.

“The acquisition enables us to significantly expand Röchling’s position as a supplier of advanced medical technology products and to implement our growth strategy in the USA. Additionally, we expect the acquisition to drive collaboration with our other medical sites,” explains Professor Hanns-Peter Knaebel, CEO of the Röchling Group and Medical Division. “Precision Medical Products has earned a reputation for quality and innovation. This aligns well with Röchling’s philosophy and is a strong foundation for future success.”

Lewis H. Carter, President of Röchling Advent Tool & Mold and Head of the Business Unit Medical Plastics, is excited by the expertise PMP will bring to the company. "PMP employees have extensive experience in the design, development and manufacture of precision metal and plastic parts along with the lifesaving assemblies they create” Carter says. “Their skills and expertise will help the Medical Division continue to thrive and provide value to our customers.” Röchling Advent Tool & Mold has been part of the Röchling Group since 2012. Headquartered in Rochester, New York, the company is a full-service specialist in the manufacture of injection-molded, precision medical grade devices.

Röchling was supported in the transaction by Alira Health, as a strategic & financial advisor.

Post-acquisition, the two companies will henceforth be known as Röchling Medical Rochester and Röchling Medical Lancaster. Both companies are part of the Röchling Medical Division, which also includes two entities in Germany, Röchling Medical Brensbach and Röchling Medical Neuhaus, and Röchling Medical Suzhou in China.
