Expertise and Understanding - Complex Components for Catheter-Based Devices

Nordson MEDICAL has deep expertise in complex catheters and delivery systems used in structural heart, neurovascular, and electrophysiology applications. For every project, we bring both deep technical expertise and clinical knowledge of a wide range of medical device applications.

The core of our catheter expertise is our components and technologies, including PET heat shrink tubing, PTFE liner tubing, custom medical balloons, complex extrusions, and engineered shafts. We can partner with you in all phases of catheter development, from design and development through manufacturing and assembly. This seamless integration brings you the most cost-effective, innovative, catheter-based devices on the market.

PET Heat Shrink Tubing
Our polyethylene terephthalate (PET) medical heat shrink tubing can be used for a wide range of applications and as a manufacturing aid for complex catheters. Applications include:
  • VARIABLE-STIFFNESS CATHETERS:
PET heat shrink can be used to add stiffness without significantly affecting the profile of the device, and by using different thicknesses along the length of the device, you can control the flexibility.
  • PROTECTIVE COVERING/COATING:
PET heat shrink tubing can be used to cover laser-cut hypotubes, braided catheter shafts, radiopaque marker bands, and more.
  • BRAID TERMINATION:
PET heat shrink can contain a braid and prevent it from unraveling.
  • TUBE MARKING AND PRINTING:
Pad printing and depth markers can easily be added to PET heat shrink to avoid sending the full device to a printer.
