California's EPI Buys RD Rubber Technology

February 2020 – Santa Fe Springs, CA – RD Rubber Technology Corporation, a manufacturer of tight tolerance molded rubber and LSR components has been acquired by California-based Engineered Polymer Industries, Inc. (EPI).

Engineered Polymer Industries, Inc. (EPI) is a newly formed entity founded by industry veteran Greg Sallee, who spent his career in plastics and polymers with Pexco and Saint-Gobain. Greg will assume the CEO role at RD Rubber as former president and part-owner Walt Hopkins transitions into retirement.

RD Rubber Technology has 19 molding machines (including injection, LSR, compression, and transfer) ranging in size from 30-275 tons of clamping force. The company molds liquid silicone rubber components in a certified ISO class 8 cleanroom.

The company was founded by Walt Hopkins and Rosanne Dukowitz in 1986 and has been serving the medical, aerospace, and defense markets with custom molded rubber products since its inception.

The company employs 40 people and operates a state-of-the-art facility. RD Rubber is ISO 9001:2015 certified and ITAR registered.

The company will continue to operate as RD Rubber Technology Corp. and Sallee expects a seamless transition.

“RD Rubber is a well-run company with an excellent reputation and customer-centric culture, which has enabled it to be successful over its 35 years. I plan to continue to nurture this same culture,” said Sallee

MBS Advisors of Florence, Mass., represented RD Rubber Technology Corp. in the transaction.
