Kennesaw, GA – Fabrico, the leader in design and manufacturing services for flexible materials and advanced assembly, will be presenting a speech titled “Thermal Conductive Materials and LED Cooling” at the 2014 Advancements in Thermal Management Conference held on August 6, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center in Colorado.
Craig McClenachan, Fabrico’s Vice President of Advanced Assembly, will provide his insight and experience on how LED design engineers can enhance the performance of their lighting systems through proper materials selection. The speech will detail a number of approaches for tackling over-heating within LEDs that encompasses the selection and use of materials for attachment, from thermally conductive adhesives to die-cut pads that are electrically isolating and thermally conductive.
Fabrico provides the design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing knowledge to complete advanced LED luminaire designs. The company offers components that provide the required thermal conductivity and electrical insulation for LEDs. All components undergo a thorough design engineering process before being lab-based tested. Parameters such as surface flatness of the substrate and heat sink, shape and type of metal used for the heat sink, applied mounting pressure, thickness of the interface, contact area, etc., are thoroughly analyzed to assist designers in making the correct selection of materials and adhesives for their LED applications.
