To our valued customers:

We are getting closer to our new White Room standard for production! Facility upgrades are completed and improvements are qualified and implemented, or at final stage of qualification. As we mentioned in an earlier letter, some of the changes and improvements that we have made include:

  • Relocation of compressors and braiders and an increase in compressor capacity
  • Production entrance improvements for work area segregation
  • Improved ventilation in production with additional hood vents
  • Orientation of extrusion lines and the addition of 2 new extrusion lines
  • Water purification system (Reverse Osmosis and UV-Sterilization of incoming water)
  • Upgrades to our tool room, production, inspection, packaging and warehouse areas for improved efficiency, cleanliness, organization and process flow

We have also added capabilities with new technology in testing and data processing including:

  • Tensile tester
  • Moisture analyzer
  • SPC software

Additionally, Optinova-MLE has conducted a thorough review and documented equivalency experiment between our existing 1” Davis Standard extruder and downstream equipment and a brand new 1” Davis Standard extruder, of the same model, with equivalent downstream equipment. The purpose of this was part of our expansion plan as well as assisting our customers with a return to short lead times.

This Equivalency Exercise has now been completed and reviewed by our Engineering and Quality teams and been deemed successful. We pass along this information to notify you of the increased capacity for production items as we will now be able to run any production items on
either Davis Standard 1” line as a result of this approved equivalency.

The final step, to implement our White Room standard, will take place on Monday April, 16th, including employee training, documentation, and definitions of our standard in the associated processes within our Quality Manual.

We know that all of these improvements will prove to be a great advantage for you as a customer as well as for us in being your supplier.

Feel free to contact us with any questions regarding these changes or to review a copy of any of our revised processes.

Sincerely,

The Management Team
