Perkasie, Penna. - Sept. 19, 2011- Jeff Koslosky, Vice President of Advanced Technologies, Secant Medical®, LLC will speak at the "New Biomaterials and Design Trends" session on Wednesday October 5th, 2011, during the Biomaterials Europe Conference in Barcelona, Spain.
During the session, Koslosky will discuss the advantages of blending the technologies of resorbable and non-absorbable biomaterials with medical textile engineering to enable device design. The benefits of fabric architectures for specific applications such as orthopedics, cardiovascular, general surgery, tissue engineering, and neurology also will be presented.
The presentation will highlight two device case studies that illustrate the application of biomedical textile components in device development. In addition, Koslosky will touch upon the future impact of biomedical textile technology using synthetic and advanced biologic materials in device design.
"It's exciting to take advanced biomaterials and map them to the appropriate textile forming technology to produce seemingly endless possibilities for enabling device design," states Koslosky. The Biomaterials Europe Conference will focus on the latest market trends, new biomaterials and design trends and technologies for biomaterials processing.
